The Oti Region is set for a competitive parliamentary election, with 26 candidates vying for nine seats across various constituencies.
Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), Nuhu Mahama, the Oti Regional Director of the Electoral Commission (EC), confirmed the number of candidates and highlighted key details of the upcoming election.
The constituencies in contention include Buem, Guan, Biakoye, Akan, Krachi East, Krachi West, Krachi Nchumuru, Nkwanta South, and Nkwanta North. The region boasts a total of 1,004 polling stations and nine special voting centres to facilitate the process.
Mr Mahama disclosed that 423,765 registered voters are expected to cast their ballots on Saturday, underscoring the significance of the elections in shaping the region’s parliamentary representation.
As the day approaches, the region remains focused on ensuring a smooth and transparent electoral process.
