The Ashanti Regional Police Command has deployed security personnel for the 2024 General Election. Just before the deployment, the Ashanti Regional Police Commander charged them to exhibit the most professionalism in the discharge of their duties.

Former Peace Council Chairman, Most Reverend Professor Emmanuel Asante called on all stakeholders to ensure a peaceful election.

“The main objective is to ensure that there is peace in our country and that we understand one another. There can only be peace in the country if there is justice in the country where nobody is cheated, people’s rights are respected and things are done according to the law.

“Ghana is a nation of laws and when we allow the laws to work, justice and fairness prevail. Transparency and accountability also prevail, then our development will move forward”, he stated

Election Stakeholders in the Western Region and party supporters have equally expressed readiness for December 7.

With less than 24 hours before the start of the 2024 general elections, stakeholders in the Western Region told Channel One News that they are very ready for tomorrow’s election.

Their assurance came after a night of exciting sights and sounds as supporters of NPP and NDC marked the end of campaigning with candlelight and entertaining float across the five constituencies of Sekondi-Takoradi.

The countdown is on. With just a few hours to elections, voters will decide who will lead Ghana for the next four years.

Residents of Abeka in the Greater Accra Region also expressed their expectations as well as factors that will influence their choice of vote.

“Looking at the achievements of the current government, I am hesitant to change my vote.  The Free SHS policy has been a blessing for mothers like me. As a single mother of two, I have seen how my children have directly benefited from it. I want to support the continuation of this policy,” Florence Yeboah, a resident of Abeka stated.

“The deployment of police helicopters at the rally yesterday showed their preparedness.  I believe that Ghana is secure and there will be no violence. Ghana is a peaceful country. I expect victory for the nation tomorrow. I hope for Bawumia to win”, stated Bismark Opoku, a resident of Abeka.
