The Deputy Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Elikem Kotoko, has raised concerns about the turning away of a potential voter who could not find his name in the voter register despite claims of registering at the Sekondi polling station.

Kotoko expressed this concern while speaking to Channel One News after inspecting the Well-Road Methodist Primary School polling station in Sekondi Constituency during the special voting exercise, where 574 voters are expected.

“This is the 5th polling station I have visited in the metropolis, there have not been any infractions. But in the first place, we must say that this is an avoidable inconvenience that has been visited on people by the Electoral Commission because they should’ve voted on December 2.

“This is unpardonable though, but we let it slide. I was at one of the polling stations when a prison officer was turned away because he could not find his name in the register at the Methodist-Sekondi astroturf and that is not what we’re expecting because not a single person is expected to be disenfranchised in this process. This is a mission to rescue Ghana.”
