Dr Peter Boamah Otokunor, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) spokesperson on agriculture, has described the party’s flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, as the leader best equipped to rescue Ghana from its current economic turmoil.
Speaking at the NDC’s final rally held at Zurak Park in Madina on Thursday, December 5, Dr Otokunor emphasised Mahama’s unique qualifications, experience, and compassion, describing him as the only leader capable of steering the country out of its current difficulties.
In his address to party supporters, he painted a sobering picture of Ghana’s current economic challenges under the leadership of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
He decried the hardships faced by Ghanaians and highlighted the urgent need for a leader who understands the plight of the masses.
Dr Otokunor asserted that John Dramani Mahama is the leader Ghana needs in these trying times. Drawing on Mahama’s track record, he described him as a seasoned statesman with a deep understanding of the challenges facing Ghanaians.
“The nation is in crisis, difficulty, and in distress and we need somebody who understands the problems of the people. Somebody who has the compassion and is honest and experienced to deliver this country from the darkness that President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has put it through, and that person is president Mahama.
“Everywhere we have been across the country, from the villages to the islands to cities, everybody is saying that person to deliver and change this country is President Mahama and we are hopeful that come Saturday, Ghanaians will choose Mahama to come and reset Ghana and build the Ghana we want,” he said.
