Kwabena Agyei Agyepong, Senior Campaign Adviser to Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has highlighted the unique nature of Bawumia’s candidacy in the upcoming general elections.

In an interview on The Point of View on Channel One TV on Wednesday, December 4, Agyepong highlighted the historic significance of Bawumia’s leadership within the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

He noted that the selection of Dr. Bawumia as the NPP’s flagbearer demonstrates the party’s commitment to inclusivity and its efforts to break away from traditional stereotypes.

Agyepong also praised Dr. Bawumia’s humility, respectfulness, and strong interpersonal skills, describing them as key traits that resonate with voters and enhance his appeal across diverse segments of the electorate.

“I think our candidate is a unique candidate. First time in the history of this country and especially for our political tradition to elect a northern Muslim as our leader and this is the propaganda tool that our friends of the NDC have used since 1992 to try to stereotype us and pigeonhole the NPP as an Asante party not even an Akan party sometimes and made us very difficult to campaign in some parts of our country.

“We were locked up in the middle belt in this country and this shows that our party is not an Akan party. It doesn’t matter whether you are Ewe or you are Nzema or Mamprusi or Dagomba, it doesn’t matter.

“If the electorate feels that you have the oomph to be able to lead them they will be able to trust you with their future they will do so and I think it is based on the record of Dr Bawumia he has exhibited such finesse, interpersonal skills, a nice person, he’s very humble very respectful,” Agyepong stated.
