Former president and flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, has revealed his feeling of vindication after previously stating that leading a country is no easy task.
Speaking to some district and municipal Imams in the Ashanti region on Monday, December 2, Mahama emphasised that recent challenges faced by the government have confirmed his earlier remarks.
He further stated that his comments were not meant as criticism but as a reflection of the weight of presidential responsibilities.
“I used to tell them that presidential responsibility is not a lightweight to carry. One may think, ours is easy. I told them to be careful because it is not easy being a president and that governing a country is not as easy as it seems. Shortly after that, they won the election.
“The NDC was sad, but I kept assuring them that whatever God does is good. Indeed, he, God knows what he does,” he stated.
