John Setor Dumelo, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate for Ayawaso West Wuogon, has voiced his displeasure over the alleged distribution of food by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) candidate, Lydia Seyram Alhassan, to voters waiting to cast their ballots.
Dumelo expressed frustration as the food was handed out to voters in line at the Legon Police Station Special Voting Center.
He condemned the action, stating that it violates the rules set by the Electoral Commission.
“Lydia is sharing things with the people who have not voted yet in the line which is bad. If this is what she is going to bring, I will give her a showdown today.
“Let’s respect the rules of the Electoral Commission. Don’t share anything with the people in the queue who have not voted yet. And you are sharing food. We do not know what is in the thing and you are sharing the food with people who have not voted yet.
“What kind of stupidity is this? Or do they think we cannot do it? We can do the same and even worse. They shouldn’t even try us”, he fumed.
