The Deputy Spokesperson for the John Mahama Campaign Team, Beatrice Annan, has emphasised the National Democratic Congress’s (NDC) commitment to winning the upcoming December 7 elections through intensive grassroots engagement, despite favourable poll projections.
Her comments follow a report by research firm Global InfoAnalytics, which predicts victory for the NDC flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, with 52.2% of the vote.
Speaking on Citi FM‘s Eyewitness News on Friday, November 29, 2024, Annan acknowledged the significance of polls but stressed the importance of direct voter engagement.
According to her, the country’s economic challenges as a driving force behind voter sentiment.
“We in the NDC respect the polls and the predictions that are coming out, but we understand that the elections are won at the polling station. We understand that the defining moment for many Ghanaians is the current economic condition and, in every way that we can, we are working very hard. Yesterday, President Mahama left the Odododiodio constituency at midnight.
“So, we are engaging the people, we are talking to them. Except to say that the sentiment expressed on the ground is in consonant with the predictions of the polls,” she stated.
