Presidential candidate John Mahama has instructed the Minority group in Parliament not to honor any potential recall of the House by Speaker Alban Bagbin.

The Majority Caucus had petitioned Speaker Bagbin to urgently reconvene Parliament to address pressing government matters following an indefinite adjournment on November 7. The Majority’s recall request, submitted on November 22, proposed November 28 and 29, 2024, as suitable dates.

Speaking to NDC supporters in Ellembelle in the Western Region, John Mahama announced that the Minority caucus would not attend Parliament until after the elections.

“Vote for Armah Kofi Buah as Ellembelle MP. If anyone claims that we are not the majority, let them wait and see the results on election day. That is when they would realise that the NDC is the true majority group.

“We have seen a letter requesting a recall asking us to stop campaigning and go to the house. Let them go if they want but we will not be going. We will continue our campaign so NDC MPs, don’t go”, he stated.
