One person has been shot dead following a robbery incident at a filling station at Dormabin in the Oti Region.

The deceased, a customer, who was mistaken to be an attendant at the filling station, sustained gunshot injuries with the robbers making away with GH¢9,000, on Sunday, November 24.

A journalist at the Oti Radio in Dambai, Kingsley Mamore, who narrated the incident to CitiNews says, the victim was referred to Worawora Government Hospital, after receiving immediate treatment at the Dormabin CHPS facility, but succumbed to the injuries in transit to Worawora Government Hospital.

“On Sunday evening half about 7:45 pm, there was this young guy who happened to visit the filling station to buy fuel. Armed robbers stormed the premises of the filing station and mistook the deceased for one of the pump attendants.

“They opened fire on him and eventually entered the premises and made away with GHS9,000. The police have beefed up security patrol within the community to prevent any future occurrence.”
