The Electoral Commission (EC) has assured that all ballot papers will be deployed to all regions across the country by the end of today, November 26.

The biometric verification devices will be deployed by the close of the weekend.

The Commission said it had deployed ballot papers to 13 regions with the exception of Northern, Bono and Bono East.

Jean Mensa, EC Chairperson at a meeting with the National Elections security Taskforce in Accra on Tuesday noted commission’s readiness for the polls.

“As we speak, all our registers have been prepared, we have completed the preparation of our voters register and they have been disseminated across the country. We are also near completion with our ballots for the presidential and the parliamentary polls.

“All the ballots, with the exception of the Northern, Bono, and Bono East regions, have been disseminated to our police armouries across the country. I am well aware that the ballot papers for these regions will be disseminated to the police armouries this afternoon.”

Dr George Akuffo Dampare, Head of the National Election Security Taskforce, pledged the commitment of the security agencies to ensure a peaceful election.

“In our readiness, we want to also say that we will protect every Ghanaian and will protect every stakeholder in this election and more importantly we will protect you and your staff as you go about your constitutional duty ensuring that the election is executed to the benefit of Ghanaians,” he stated.
