The National Democratic Congress (NDC) expressed confidence that residents of Klottey Korle will reward their parliamentary candidate, Dr. Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, for her dedicated service and impactful initiatives in the constituency.
Speaking on Channel One TV’s Community Forum on Monday, November 25, the Communications Officer for NDC in Klottey Korle, Lutterodt Albert, praised Dr Zanetor for her efforts in addressing local challenges and fostering development.
Highlighting her contributions, residents lauded her involvement in providing essential amenities, supporting education, and advocating for better healthcare access in the community.
He noted that the incumbent MP is committed to the welfare of the people and has strengthened their confidence in her leadership.
“I know the good people of Klottey Korle. They are doing this to reward Dr. Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings based on what she has done for the constituents. For the past eight years, where is this man [Valentino Nii Noi Nortey] that you are talking about? Is it because it has gotten to elections so you are coming to give the people money to vote for you? I know that people of Klottey Korle are wise and they are going to vote wisely,” he stated.
He continued, “Her visibility is one of the concerns of the constituents, but it is because of her role in parliament. This is a situation in which she is a member of parliament in opposition. Let’s be honest with ourselves, per her performance, role and links in parliament, she needs to use the opportunity to lobby in parliament.
“So I can boldly say that when you come to Klottey Korle, though she is an opposition MP, she is using the small time she has to bring opportunity to the constituents. So we will plead with them to bear with us. She is working,” he added.
In the 2020 general elections, the incumbent Member of Parliament, Dr. Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, faced off against the NPP’s Prince Appiah Debrah. She secured 39,343 votes, while the NPP candidate received 31,154 votes.
At the presidential level, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the sitting president, garnered 33,126 votes in the constituency, while John Mahama obtained 37,189 votes.
Klottey Korle remains a key battleground to watch in the upcoming elections, as Dr. Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings seeks reelection against Valentino Nii Noi Nortey of the NPP.
