The National Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate, John Dramani Mahama, claims he has become a significant source of concern for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), citing repeated verbal slips by the party during campaign events.

This follows a viral video in which the NPP’s running mate, Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh, mistakenly mentioned John Mahama’s name instead of the NPP’s candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, while addressing a campaign rally.

Mahama attributes these incidents to growing unease within the ruling party, particularly over his pledge to prosecute public officials implicated in the misappropriation of public funds.

Speaking during a community engagement in Somanya as part of his campaign tour of the Eastern Region, Mahama said the NPP’s discomfort underscores the seriousness of his anti-corruption agenda.

“When the leaders of NPP sleep, the person they dream about is John Mahama. Any night they sleep, it is John Mahama they dream about and that is why Nana Akufo-Addo says ‘Akufo-Addo- Mahama’ administration. It came out of his mouth because every day he dreams about John Mahama.

“The Ashanti Regional Chairman said when you go vote for John Dramani Mahama. When I was coming here to Odumasi, I saw another video where their running mate NAPO said ‘Vote for John Mahama’. They whispered to him but he didn’t hear and still said ‘Vote for Mahama’, then they said ‘No, no, no, Bawumia”, he stated.
