The Ghana Police Service is actively searching for individuals involved in an attempted robbery at a Forex Bureau in Lapaz, Greater Accra Region, which occurred on Friday afternoon.
On November 22, two suspects reportedly entered the Forex Bureau near the Las Palmas area and demanded that employees surrender all cash on hand.
During the incident, bystanders outside managed to secure the entrance, effectively trapping the suspects and staff inside. Upon the police’s arrival, they discovered the bureau locked, with both the robbers and employees thought to be inside.
An eyewitness who spoke to Channel One News indicated that the suspects inexplicably disappeared after the police gained entry with the suspects believed to have escaped through a backdoor.
In a statement, the police stated that their rapid response to the location prevented the suspects from executing the robbery, assuring the public that the suspects would be apprehended to face legal consequences.
“We would like to assure the public that we will surely get them and bring them to face justice.”
