The Regional Elections Security Task Force in Accra has urged the public to promptly report any credible incidents, assuring that toll-free numbers will be provided for easy communication.
The task force reiterated the police’s commitment to maintaining peace and stability before, during, and after the elections.
This message was shared during a visit by the Greater Accra Regional Police Commander, DCOP Arhin Kwasi Annor, and other task force members to the Accra Central Police mosque, where they engaged with the Muslim community.
DCOP Annor praised the community for fostering peaceful coexistence and encouraged them to continue being law-abiding citizens.
“We want to assure you that we will do everything possible for peace to reign before, during and after the election. Even after the election, we will continue to provide the needed security. We have put measures in place; a comprehensive security strategy to curb violence during the election. Security personnel will be everywhere and on standby to ensure orderliness so when it’s time ensure you come out to vote.
“We want to thank you for your contribution to peace in this country. It makes our work easier so thank you. We urge you to continue assisting and cooperating with us to promote peace in the country. Be a patriotic citizen, alert the security personnel when you find something out of the ordinary but ensure you give us credible information”
