Daniel Nii Kwartei Titus Glover has destroyed the tables of vendors at the newly commissioned Flower Pot Interchange in Accra.
This comes just a day after the official opening of the interchange by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
During the commissioning ceremony in Accra on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, Titus-Glover emphasised the importance of maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the interchange.
He urged all and sundry to ensure that the area remained free of kiosks and containers to preserve its beauty and functionality.
“We also share the responsibility to maintain and use these resources wisely. In this light, I would like to urge the municipal assemblies, particularly Ledzorkuku and Ayawaso West Wuogon, under whose jurisdiction this interchange falls, to ensure that this area is kept clean.
“Additionally, I don’t want to see kiosks and containers littered around. It will destroy the beauty that we are witnessing and commissioning today,” he stated.
However, a day after the inauguration of the interchange, a seller, identified as Sahadatu Seidu, had set up her table to sell coconuts at the interchange despite warnings from the authorities to keep the area free of vendors.
Sahadatu claimed she had been selling at the location before the construction of the interchange and felt justified in returning to her old spot.
Aside her, other sellers were later spotted in the day selling fruits at the interchange.
Titus-Glover was subsequently in a viral video dismantling their tables and driving the vendors away.
In a video, Titus Glover is seen destroying the table of some vendors.
