Finance Minister, Dr Mohammed Amin Adam, has described the Bank of Ghana’s (BoG) new headquarters as a landmark achievement in Ghana’s pursuit of economic stability and financial integrity.
Speaking during the inauguration ceremony on Wednesday, November 20, Dr Adam highlighted the facility’s importance in enhancing the Central Bank’s operational efficiency and its broader role in national development.
He stressed that the $250 million edifice is not merely an architectural feat but a symbol of the government’s unwavering dedication to building a resilient and stable economy.
The new facility, he noted, is expected to play a pivotal role in ensuring the Central Bank can effectively execute its mandate in a dynamic and evolving economic landscape.
The finance minister praised the government for prioritising investments in key infrastructure projects that he said enhance the efficiency of public institutions.
He explained that the new BoG headquarters exemplifies the government’s broader vision of equipping essential institutions with the tools and environment they need to fulfill their mandates effectively.
“This monumental edifice represents more than just a physical structure. It symbolises our nations commitment to economic stability, financial integrity and progress.
“I acknowledge the critical role that the Central Bank plays in shaping our economic destiny. This new headquarters will therefore provide a conducive environment for the bank’s dedicated staff to execute their mandate with efficiency and effectiveness,” he said.
