The flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has argued that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate, John Dramani Mahama, failed to deliver effectively during his tenure as president, making him unfit to lead again.

Dr. Bawumia contended that a one-term presidency for Mahama would lack accountability to the Ghanaian people.

Speaking to stakeholders in the Ahafo Ano South West constituency, Dr. Bawumia assured that his leadership would prioritise accountability and focus on addressing the pressing needs of Ghanaians.

“Everybody should know that former President Mahama and I are strongly contesting in this race. But he has been president before so when voted for, he can only be president for four years then he will be gone. But I on the other hand can be president for 8 years when you vote for me.
“I will come back here after four years to account for my work. I will come back to Ahafo Ano South West to give an account of my work.

“I will come and show you the roads and schools I have constructed. I know that most of the towns within this constituency need electricity. I will come and show you the electricity we will bring to the various towns in this constituency.

“Since I will come back here to give an account, I will do the work diligently. Your majesties, give me the steering wheel.”
