Goosie Tanoh, Chair of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Manifesto Committee on Employment and Job Creation, has assured Ghanaians that an NDC-led administration will prioritize stabilising the economy.

He criticized the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government’s claims of economic recovery, describing them as unconvincing and detached from the realities faced by citizens.

Speaking during an interview with Bernard Avle on The Point of View on Channel One TV, on Monday, November 18, Mr. Tanoh emphasized the NDC’s commitment to stabilizing the local currency and curbing inflation as part of a comprehensive plan to restore economic stability.

“The NDC’s agenda is basically to stabilise, recover, grow and transform. We have not turned any corner. The exchange rate one month ago was GHS15, it’s now GHS17. And they have to enter the market at $200 million to bring inflation down.

“You need to put the real buffers in to stabilise. We have been to the IMF 17 times, and we have had these reports before about how wonderful, how we were about to turn the corner.”

“Stabilise, grow your economy, bring food prices inflation down, increase output so that you can supply raw materials to industries operating at 65% capacity. Generate the jobs, generate the income, mobilise your tax revenue because you have more people working,” he said.
