Sedem Afenyo, the Parliamentary Candidate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Amasaman Constituency, has expressed strong confidence in winning the upcoming elections.
During an appearance on Channel One TV’s Community Forum on Monday, November 18, Afenyo highlighted that the NDC’s strategic groundwork and efforts would ensure a decisive victory for both himself and the party’s presidential candidate, John Dramani Mahama.
“For the strategies, I will not disclose to you how we are going to win the seat but I can assure you that with what we have done on the grounds, on December 7, it is a straight win for myself and John Dramani Mahama,” he stated.
Sedem Afenyo contrasted the records of the NDC and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in fulfilling campaign promises.
He criticised the NPP for unfulfilled pledges, including the One District, One Factory (1D1F) initiative and the supposed allocation of GH₵1 million per constituency for development projects, which he claimed Amasaman never received.
“Promises get people to do things they are not supposed to do. They will come to you with so many promises; 1D1F, and others. Amasaman, we don’t have the 1D1F. They promised us Ghc1 million for each constituency for developmental projects, but we never got any of this.
“John Mahama promised us an E-block and we got it. This alone attests to what the two parties promised us, one delivered but the other one didn’t. The constituents are feeling the pinch,” he added.
