The flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has announced plans to upgrade Kumawu into a municipality in response to a petition from local chiefs.
During a tour of the constituency, Dr Bawumia assured stakeholders that the area would benefit from significant development projects, including the establishment of a nursing training college.
He emphasized that these initiatives aim to boost infrastructure and improve opportunities for the people of Kumawu.
“As you know, former President Mahama didn’t do anything for Kumawu, if you vote for him, that will be all. He will not come back to account for his work. I on the other can be president for 8 years. In four years, I will be here to give accounts.
“We are going to establish a Nursing Training College here for you. We will work on your roads for you. We give Kumawu a municipality status. So give me the steering wheel”
“Ghana, with our Agenda 111, will become a medical tourist destination in the sub-region. Once we get the first-class machinery, people will come from abroad to Ghana for medical tourism. About the nursing training facility that is so precious to you, the good news is that it has been approved for Kumawu. Leave the accreditation to us to work on it. I will be the president to give the municipal status to Kumawu”
He admonished the constituents to vote massively for Ernest Yaw Anim, the NPP Parliamentary Candidate for Kumawu Constituency.
