The presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, has called on Ghanaians to reject Vice-President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in the upcoming December 7 elections.
Mahama stressed that an NDC victory would set the stage for economic recovery, driven by effective and responsible management under a new NDC-led government.
During a community engagement in Enchi, located in the Aowin Constituency as part of his campaign tour of the Western North Region, Mahama urged voters to see a choice for Dr. Bawumia, the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) candidate, as a vote for continued economic difficulties and financial mismanagement.
“A vote for Bawumia means you are happy with the mismanagement of our finances, our increased debt stock and the current suffering. And so if you are displeased with what is happening, you’ll have to vote them out of office,” he said.
The former president accused the NPP government of failing to address the economic challenges facing the nation, highlighting Dr. Bawumia’s role as Chairman of the Economic Management Team.
He assured the people of better economic prospects under an NDC-led administration.
“The economy is tough for Ghanaians, including businesspersons who are experiencing sluggish growth in their businesses,” Mahama said.
