The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, has issued a strong warning against electoral misconduct as the December 2024 elections approach, emphasizing that offenders will face the full force of the law.
Speaking at the commissioning of a new police station in Akyem-Manso, Eastern Region, Dr. Dampare highlighted the police’s preparedness to detect and address potential electoral disturbances.
“Don’t be lured into creating confusion during the polls because my people will not spare you. Don’t forget that the people who will lure you to create confusion will switch off their phones when you are arrested, they will simply abandon you,” he warned.
He encouraged citizens to exercise their voting rights peacefully while respecting the rights of others and avoiding activities that could disrupt the electoral process.
The IGP reassured the public of the police service’s commitment to ensuring a safe, transparent, and peaceful election, promising impartial security measures throughout the process.
