Michael Osei, former head coach of Asante Kotoko and a key figure in Ghanaian football, has passed away at the age of 53.

The ex-midfielder, who played for the Porcupine Warriors before transitioning into coaching, reportedly died in London after being rushed to the hospital with chest pains. His sudden demise has left the football community in shock and mourning.

Osei had a notable coaching career, leading Bibiani Gold Stars to a commendable fifth-place finish in the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League.

He also served as an assistant coach for the Black Meteors, Ghana’s U23 national team, further cementing his legacy in the sport.

A member of the Professional Footballers Association of Ghana (PFAG), Osei’s contributions to Ghanaian football as both a player and coach will be deeply missed.

His passing marks a profound loss to the football fraternity and the many lives he impacted throughout his career.
