The Electoral Commission (EC) has recalled ballot papers printed for the Ahafo and Volta regions due to serialisation errors.

Samuel Tettey, the EC’s Deputy Commissioner, announced this during an emergency Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) meeting on Friday, November 15, 2024.

Tettey explained that while the overall ballot printing process had gone smoothly, a serialisation issue was identified on some of the ballot papers designated for the two regions.

To address the problem, the EC has reassigned the printing responsibilities. Buck Press, which was initially tasked with printing the Volta region’s ballots, will now handle Ahafo’s, while Acts Commercials, previously assigned to Ahafo, will take over the printing for Volta.

“Over the last few weeks, some concerns have been raised with the serialisation of the Ballot Papers for Ahafo and Volta Regions.

“While the printing of the Ballot Papers has gone down very well, the challenge faced by the Commission has been the serialisation of the numbers on the Ballot Papers.

“The Commission has seriously taken action to cure the defects. And has deployed teams to the printing house to correct the anomalies.

“The commission has taken a decision to recall the Ballot Papers for Ahafo and the Volta regions. The Commission has decided that the two ballots will now be printed by Buck Press and Acts Commercials for presidential and parliamentary,” he stated.
