A former Black Stars captain, James Kuuku Dadzie, believes Niger’s recent victory over Sudan in Group F of the 2025 AFCON qualifiers could serve as a psychological boost for Ghana ahead of its crucial match tonight.

The Black Stars must secure wins against Angola and Niger in their next two fixtures to keep their hopes alive for qualification to the AFCON tournament in Morocco.

Speaking to Channel One News, the 1978 AFCON winner emphasised the importance of focusing on Angola first, stating, “The priority now is to beat Angola, then strategise for Niger.”

“It is going to have an impact on our games against Angola, psychologically that is football. If Sudan had beaten Niger, our match with Angola will be just nothing to write home about. But once Niger has beaten Sudan, it means that our chances of qualifying for the African Cup of Nations in Morocco are brighter now.

“So, the only thing left we have to do is that we have to beat Angola. That is the bottom line. Thereafter then we can know how to tackle the last match, depending on other results,” he stated.
