The National Association of Institutional Suppliers (NAIS) are set to stage a two-day picket at the premises of the Ministry of Education over unpaid arrears effective Wednesday, November 20 to Thursday, November 21.
The association on Tuesday, November 12 served a letter of notice to the Ghana Police Service informing the police of their intention to picket the Education Ministry premises.
According to the association, the government is yet to settle arrears that date back to 2022-2023. Full payments for their services rendered during the 2023-2024 period have also not been paid. They claims that efforts to acquire their funds remain futile.
The NAIS expressed displeasure over the Education Ministry’s motive to deny members of the association future contracts stressing that this motive by the ministry will have a negative impact on businesses, employees and the local garment industry to a large extent.
The association maintains its dedication to collaborating with the Education Ministry and stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of education-related policies.
However, it posits that it will not do so while facing uncertainties in terms of finances and contracts.
