The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has dismissed the National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) proposed 24-hour Economy policy as an unrealistic promise meant to mislead voters.

With just 24 days to the general election, the NPP argues that the NDC has yet to present a clear plan for implementing a 24-hour economy.

The NPP is calling on Ghanaians to support the practical solutions put forth by their presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, which they believe are more achievable.

At a press conference on Wednesday, November 13, NPP Director of Communications Richard Ahiagbah emphasized that Dr. Bawumia’s policies offer realistic pathways to economic growth and prosperity.

“The conditions necessary for implementing such a policy are not here. The conditions necessary for implementing any 24-hour economy is a functioning or performing economy. Therefore, even if you are dreaming of a 24-hour economy you must first tell us, the way to that is your daytime economic policy; how you are going to manage the extra demand that will drive that we need to produce more and therefore, let’s work 12 hours more, 24 hours more or let’s work 18 hours. It is not just a question of  ‘I want to do’. It is not wishful thinking.

“The NDC is fraudulently putting the 24-Hour Economy in the domain to leave it as a conversation that will be tumbling up and down and they hope to benefit from it.”, he stated
