President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has called on world leaders to transition from discussions to tangible actions in addressing the global climate crisis.
Speaking at the COP29 Summit in Azerbaijan on Wednesday, November 13, Akufo-Addo highlighted the urgent need for collective action to combat the escalating impacts of climate change, especially on vulnerable communities.
He emphasized that the climate crisis cannot be met with words alone and urged leaders to implement practical, impactful solutions that safeguard the well-being of present and future generations.
“We gather here, we must demonstrate that we are not only individuals or policymakers but people bound by the love for our land and environment
“Our children’s future hinges on our decisions, so COP29 must be a shift from dialogue to action,” he stressed.
With COP29 highlighting climate financing, Akufo-Addo called on developed nations to fulfil financial commitments that will help drive the global green transition.
