Following the disqualification of their presidential candidate, Philip Appiah Kubi, also known as Roman Fada, the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP) has indicated that it is going to meet as a party to decide on who to support in the 2024 general elections.

This decision was revealed by the GFP’s National Organiser, Richard Botchway, who announced that the party leadership will soon meet to formally decide on endorsing another political party.

“We’re going to meet as national executives and then throw our weight behind one political party,” he stated.

Meanwhile, Roman Fada, a well-known radio and TV personality with Accra-based Atinka FM, confirmed his candidacy in an interview on the network on Monday, November 4, 2024, to succeed the late Akua Donkor, the founder and flagbearer of the Ghana Freedom Party, until her demise on October 29, 2024.

The Electoral Commission (EC) had written to the GFP requesting it to present a flagbearer to contest in the 2024 general elections which the GFP presented Roman Fada.

However, in addressing the media on Tuesday, November 12, the EC noted the GFP flagbearer could not contest the elections because of the irregularities identified in their nomination forms.

However, the commission stated that the respective positions of the other parties would remain.
