The National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate for Suhum, Prince Tabiri Addo, has expressed confidence in his chances of winning the Suhum seat in the upcoming 2024 elections, asserting that his campaign strategy is not dependent on the internal issues facing the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Addo’s remarks come after the incumbent NPP Member of Parliament for Suhum, Kwadjo Asante, decided to contest the 2024 elections as an independent candidate.

Asante’s move follows his loss to Frank Asiedu Bekoe in the NPP primaries, leading to a split in support within the party.

Speaking on The Constituency on Channel One TV, Addo noted that he and his team are committed to campaigning on their own strengths, regardless of the rift within the NPP.

“If the contest was even with either of the opponent candidates, I was going to win. Because I know who I and my executives are working hard. We don’t want to be complacent because of the issues in our opponent’s party.

“We will not just sit down and hope that the ball rolls in our favour. So, are going all out to campaign. They have their issues, but we are not seeking to take advantage of them. We have our plans and we are campaigning to win,” he stated.
