The Chief of Akpafu in the Oti Region, Bosatē Ledzasē Mireku II has publicly thrown his support behind the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and its flagbearer John Dramani Mahama ahead of the election 2024.

This trust in the NDC according to him follows the party’s vision for Ghana and specifically highlights the attention the NDC had given to communities like Santrokofi , Akpafu, Likpe and Lolobi.

Speaking at a gathering he expressed hope that should the NDC flagbearer be elected, Akpafu and the greater Volta Region would witness renewed development and more robust economic growth. He addressed a gathering when John Mahama visited the area as part of his campaign tour.

“It is our desire and fervent hope that you win this election with a first round. The late Prof. John Evans Fiifi Atta Mills visited Akpafu in the last days of his campaign to become the President of the Republic of Ghana. The current president, Nana Akufo-Addo visited us here and victory was his.

“Now that [former] President John Dramani Mahama is here, Insha Allah, victory is yours in this election. His Excellency, the Guan District is with you. Long live John Dramani Mahama”

Meanwhile, the Flagbearer of the NDC John Mahama is expected to begin his three-day tour of the Central Region today
