David Ofosu-Dorte, Founder/Senior partner AB and David Africa has downplayed the possibility of the newly-elected US President Donald Trump going to war.

His comments stem from a pledge made by Trump to end the Ukraine-Russian war “within 24 hours” through a negotiated deal.

Trump has criticised the billions of dollars spent by the US in supporting Ukraine in its war with Russia.

Donald Trump secured over 270 Electoral College votes required to return to the White House for a second term, following his previous tenure from 2017 to 2021. Kamala Harris of the Democrat party secured  67,890,320 votes (47.5%), while Donald Trump of the Republican party polled 72,608,819 votes (50.8%).

This win makes Trump the confirmed victor of the 2024 U.S. presidential election.

In the early hours of Wednesday, November 6, 2024, Trump took the stage to declare victory after projections showed him winning crucial battleground states, including Pennsylvania, North Carolina, and Georgia. Shortly after, the Associated Press projected Wisconsin in his favour, solidifying his path back to the presidency.

In an interview with Bernard Avle on Channel One TV’s The Point of View, Mr Ofosu-Dorte, said America’s position of being a leader of the free world wouldn’t change, with the election of Trump.

“Overall, from a geopolitical point of view, I think America’s position toward geopolitics, generally in terms of its fear of control and its position of being the leader of a free world and all those things that would start coming with it.

“I don’t think anything would change, that is going to remain largely the same. Trump may be less likely to go to war in that regard, from that point of view.”
