U.S. Ambassador to Ghana Virginia E. Palmer has assured that the strong partnership between Ghana and the United States will remain unwavering, regardless of the 2024 U.S. presidential election outcome.

Addressing the press on November 6, 2024, Ambassador Palmer highlighted the lasting nature of Ghana-U.S. ties, independent of which political party leads the White House.

According to her, even though both countries will be having new administrations, Ghana will remain a fundamental country for the United States in Africa.

“I am happy to be able to address the press because even in the excitement at the moment, I feel to emphasise that no matter who is the winner today, the United States and the embassy stand ready to deepen the partnership with Ghana. We are going to have new administrations in both countries, and Ghana remains the foundational country for the United States in Africa.

“This is my 6th president in my career, and I have faithfully served whoever is elected. The relationship with Ghana remains extremely important to the United States, even with the change of administration,” she stated.

Meanwhile, Donald Trump has secured more than the 270 Electoral College votes necessary to return to the White House for a second term, following his 2017-2021 presidency. This victory confirms Trump as the winner of the 2024 U.S. presidential election.
