The flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, will host a special live broadcast on Sunday, November 10, 2024, aimed at engaging parents and students across Ghana to share his vision for the future of education in the country.
The broadcast is set to address growing concerns about the future of key education programmes such as the Free Senior High School (Free SHS) initiative and Free Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), both of which have become fundamental components of Ghana’s educational landscape.
Dr. Bawumia, mindful of the concerns among parents and students, is expected to outline his plans to further extend access to tertiary education, ensuring that no Senior High School graduate is left behind due to financial barriers.
In addition to the education-focused broadcast, Dr. Bawumia recently engaged with Ghana’s youth during an event on Sunday, November 3, 2024, to discuss their top concern—unemployment.
The interaction focused on his strategies for addressing youth unemployment should he be elected in the upcoming December 7, 2024 elections.
The Minister of Education, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, will also be part of the event, delivering an in-depth presentation on behalf of Dr. Bawumia.
Dr. Adutwum will focus on the NPP’s increased emphasis on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education, underscoring the role STEM plays in equipping Ghana’s youth with the skills needed to succeed in a fast-evolving global economy.
