The Member of Parliament for Asuogyaman, Thomas Ampem Nyarko, has asserted that his contributions to the constituency over the past eight years have far exceeded those of the two District Chief Executives (DCEs) in office during his tenure.

Speaking on The Constituency programme on Channel One TV, Ampem Nyarko emphasized that even as an opposition MP, he has delivered significant results, particularly in health, education, water, and sanitation.

Nyarko, who is campaigning on a message of sustained development, highlighted his initiatives as unparalleled, despite his opponents’ access to government resources.

He argued that his impact stands as a testament to his dedication to Asuogyaman, stating that his contributions have consistently addressed the most pressing needs of the constituency.

“My contributions to health, education, water and sanitation are many. I have constructed a toilet at Frankeduah…and I’ve constructed one at Ghanakpe. I am almost through with the completion of a toilet facility in Abome, too. I have been able to do more in Asuogyaman than two DCEs in the last eight years.

“Now, this is a challenge I am throwing out there. If anybody thinks otherwise, let them list the things that the district assembly in the past eight years have done and compare them to mine.

“I am in a contest with somebody who has also had the privilege to serve as the deputy minister for youth and sports, deputy minister for information, and currently the CEO of the National Youth Authority and at the same time a board member for the Youth Employment Agency. His government is in power, but what I have done in Asuogyaman, he hasn’t done a 10th and that is what gives me comfort.

“My campaign message is simple. I tell them that even in opposition I have been able to do so much, now that my government is coming to power, your best shot is to have me in parliament and I will be able to do more,” he stated.

Thomas Ampem Nyarko, the incumbent Member of Parliament and a member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), is going up the contest against Pius Enam Hadzide of the New Patriotic Party.
