The Doctor of Pharmacy Degree officers of the 2022-year group have threatened to sue the government over its members’ unpaid allowances.
According to them, the government has failed to release financial clearance for payment of their allowances, since they commenced their housemanship in June 2023.
This comes after a member of the campaign team for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) revealed that the officers have been paid.
Speaking to Citi News, on Friday, November 1, the leader of the Doctors of Pharmacy Degree officers of the 2022 year group, Dr.Prince Appiagyei entreated the government to expedite the payment of their allowances.
“We were actually going to court and then we were told to hold on because they were working it out for us but at the moment it seems that working it out has taken more than 60 days and we’ve not seen any outcome. So, our lawyers are going to continue with the legal process and so if today we get a call today that says that don’t go to court again, we are paying you today, then hallelujah.
“However, if we don’t get any confirmation of payment, and insist on talking again, then we are not going to listen to any talk again because we’ve been talking since February and is already November.”
