The Ministry of Education (MoE) has emphasised that the low turnout at the solution center for the Computerised School Selection Placement System (CSSPS) for Senior High Schools (SHSs) is due to the increase in the 2024 placement rate compared to previous years.

The Ministry explains that approximately five hundred and twenty thousand (528,000) eligible students representing 94.2 percent have been placed.

Speaking to Citi News during a visit to the solution center in Accra, the Public Relations Officer for the Ministry of Education, Kwasi Kwarteng outlined adopted measures to expedite the self-placement process.

“There are people who prefer the human interface. Lots of people were placed and satisfied with their placement results. This year, we were able to place about 94.2% automatically, compared to 2023 which was about 81%. Beyond that, we also have the self-placement. Maybe one can argue that maybe today is the first day, but we don’t anticipate any form of aggravation or apprehension.

“We hope we’re able to manage it, we have given an opportunity for registration online. These are people who ordinarily may have concerns, they want intervention to address them, and these are all the things we factor into when doing the placement exercise,” he stated.
