The NDC Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has accused the New Patriotic Party (NPP) of distributing funds to its supporters in the Asawase Constituency as an attempt to sway the constituents ahead of the upcoming December 7 general elections.

Addressing party supporters at the “Asawase Walk for Victory” on Sunday, October 27, Ablakwa maintained that, despite these alleged tactics, he remains confident that Ghanaians will vote against the NPP.

“I have come to realise that Muntaka’s slogan is real. I have come to witness it, that, it is love and not money. I can clearly state today that, what happened in Assin North will repeat here in Asawase. We have heard that monies are being shared to the constituents of Asawase and take it and spend. But I know, that come December, you will vote against the NPP. We are all witness to the development in this region.”

Ablakwa further took a swipe at the New Patriotic Party’s vice presidential candidate, Matthew Opoku Prempeh, describing him as a “disaster.”

He accused him of supporting policies that undermine the country’s values, specifically pointing to the introduction of Comprehensive Sexuality Education, which he claims promotes LGBTQ+ ideologies.

“I agree with our general secretary that, we loan them a running mate. This running mate is a disaster, a national disaster, an international disaster, a monumental disaster. A running mate who introduced Comprehensive Sexuality Education in Ghana. He went to a UNESCO conference to defend that, they had introduced a new curriculum to educate our children on LGBTQ+”
