Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has pledged to construct a first-class road from Damanko to Kpassah in the Oti Region, highlighting the importance of infrastructure development for the area.

Campaigning in the Nkwanta North constituency, Dr. Bawumia acknowledged the local demand for road improvements.

“I know what matters to you. Pastors, Chiefs, and Imams have all spoken, emphasizing the importance of the Damanko to Kpassa road. I know that if I have to come back in four years, I must complete this road.

“If I don’t fulfil this promise, you won’t vote for me again,” he remarked.

He contrasted this accountability with that of his opponent, former President John Dramani Mahama, suggesting that Mahama, if elected, might not face similar scrutiny in four years.

“If I don’t do it and I come back, you won’t vote for me but as for Mahama if you vote for him, he won’t come back in four years so there will be no accountability but I will come back so I will have to work hard for you.”

Dr. Bawumia continued his tour in the Oti Region, meeting with chiefs, business owners, and party supporters, and reiterated his commitment to delivering the much-needed road to strengthen connectivity and economic opportunities in the region.
