Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has confidently stated that he will lead his party to victory in the upcoming December 7 general elections.

Bawumia, who has been campaigning across the country, made this bold declaration during a rally at Ketu North in the Volta Region, a region traditionally viewed as a stronghold of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Addressing a crowd of cheering supporters, Bawumia highlighted the NPP’s achievements in government, positioning them as a key factor that will secure his victory over former President John Dramani Mahama, the NDC’s flagbearer.

According to Bawumia, the NPP’s performance over the past eight years, under both President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s leadership and his own tenure as Vice President, far surpasses the record of the NDC under Mahama’s previous administration.

Bawumia told the cheering crowd that he is confident of the NPP’s victory after touring over 200 constituencies across Ghana.

“I have been touring over 200 constituencies in Ghana and I can tell you from what I have seen today, I know that we are winning this election. You will hear by the midnight of December that NPP has won this election.”

Bawumia’s visit to the Volta Region, often regarded as the World Bank of the NDC was part of his broader campaign strategy to broaden the NPP’s appeal and secure votes in areas where the party has traditionally had a weaker presence.

Throughout his campaign, Bawumia has consistently emphasised the NPP’s track record in government as a key point of distinction between his party and the NDC.

He pointed to numerous policy achievements that, in his view, demonstrate the NPP’s superior governance and commitment to improving the lives of Ghanaians.
