Police arrest ‘Fatau Motorway’ over Mamobi NDC-NPP clash

The police have arrested Fatawu Ibrahim, also known as “Fatau Motorway,” who was wanted in connection with the violent clashes between supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Mamobi, Accra, on October 13, 2024.

Fatawu Ibrahim was seen brandishing a firearm in video footage that circulated widely on social media following the incident, which resulted in two individuals being allegedly shot and injured.

The video footage played a significant role in identifying and locating the suspect.

“He is currently in police custody and will be put before the court in due course,” a police statement confirmed.

Authorities also noted that investigations are ongoing to uncover the full circumstances surrounding the violent altercation.
