The Member of Parliament for Tema East, Isaac Ashai Odamtten, has confidently declared that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) is poised to win all three parliamentary seats in the Tema Metropolitan area in the upcoming 2024 general elections.

Odamtten predicted victories for the NDC in the Tema East, Tema West, and Tema Central constituencies, breaking the long-standing dominance of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), particularly in Tema East.

Speaking during an interview with Umaru Sanda Amadu on Channel One TV’s Face to Face, Odamtten expressed that the constituents in these areas deserve better representation than what the current government is offering.

He criticised the NPP for delivering mediocrity, stressing that the people of Tema are ready for meaningful change.

He also cautioned the NPP not to place too much confidence in the campaign of its Presidential Candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, stating that his efforts would not be enough to maintain the party’s hold on Tema’s parliamentary seats. Odamtten reaffirmed his dedication to serving his constituents and delivering tangible results.

“I believe that the time has come for the people of Tema East, Tema Central and Tema West to at least have a bite of what they could have. Because sometimes when you celebrate what you have, you may not know that what you have today is a pale shadow of what you should have.

“And that is why I’m confident that in this coming election, the NDC will win the three Tema seats. I’m very very sure. Many people have doubted the Tema East and many people think that because Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has come to Tema, two, three times, the running mate has come to Tema and because their party big wigs are in Tema, they have taken the seats back. For me, I didn’t put myself up for Parliament.

“People called on me and I’m still serving them, I always want to have the natural feel. We did our 24-hour walk and the people came around I never bussed them, the people came around. And the love they showed me in 2020, I saw much more love. I have pledged to the people that I have come to serve them and I will serve them, I will serve them like John Mahama’s 24-hour economy.”

Ashai Odamtten will be contesting with the NPP’s parliamentary candidate Yohane Amarh Ashitey, who is the current Tema Metropolitan Chief Executive.

The NPP presented Dennis Amfo-Sefah for Tema West, while the NDC presented Lawyer James Enu.

Ebi Bright is the NDC candidate for Tema Central while Charles Forson is standing on the ticket of the NPP.
