The Catholic Archdiocese of Accra held a prayer protest on Friday, October 11, 2024, against galamsey (illegal mining), uniting clergy, church members, and environmental activists in a shared call on the government to end galamsey.
With banners calling for the protection of Ghana’s lands and waters, the protest showcased the deep connection between faith and the fight for environmental preservation. Through prayer, song, and peaceful demonstration, this movement aims to inspire action and awareness across the nation.
