The Electoral Commission (EC) has addressed public concerns, confirming that the printing of ballot papers for the 2024 Presidential and Parliamentary Elections has not commenced.
According to the EC’s statement, while the printing of ballot papers will follow later, the printing of Notices of Poll for the elections is set to begin on Friday, October 11, 2024.
In a statement on Friday, the EC emphasized that ballot statistics will be shared with all candidates, political parties, and printing houses before ballot paper printing begins. This has been the Commission’s standard practice in previous elections.
The Electoral Commission reiterated its dedication to conducting transparent and credible elections. “Printing of ballot papers will only commence after ballot statistics have been provided to all stakeholders,” the statement read.
The EC further encouraged the public and stakeholders to trust in its ability to deliver a fair and transparent electoral process, as Ghana heads to the polls in December 2024.
