The Presidential candidate of Yellow Ghana, Samuel Apea-Danquah has filed a lawsuit against the Electoral Commission (EC) following his disqualification from the presidential race.
Apea-Danquah and 10 others were disqualified from the race, while 13 others, including four independent candidates, were qualified.
The EC explained that the presidential aspirants were disqualified from participating in the December 7, 2024, elections due to their failure to correct errors on their nomination forms.
But Apea-Dnaquah is seeking among other things an order of certiorari to quash the decision of EC.
Apea-Danquah is also seeking an order of mandamus compelling the EC to reinstate him as a valid presidential candidate for the 2024 presidential elections
His lawsuit brings to three the number of people who have dragged the EC to court over their disqualification.
The two others are Kofi Asamoah-Siaw, the flagbearer of the Progressive People’s Party (PPP) and the flagbearer of the People’s National Convention (PNC), Bernard Anbataayela Mornah.
