The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has asked the Electoral Commission (EC) to provide detailed statistics for all constituencies ahead of the printing of ballot papers for the December polls.
According to the NDC, the request for accurate data is to avoid issues such as insufficient or excessive ballot papers on election day.
This comes after the EC announced that it will begin printing ballot papers and notice of poll on Friday, October 11, for the 2024 general elections.
The EC, in its announcement, urged the selected agents to report to the Director of Electoral Services, on Thursday, October 10, 2024, for a brief orientation before the commencement of the printing.
The NDC acknowledged the EC’s communication regarding the printing of the notice of poll, expressing no reservations about the decision to proceed with that process before the finalisation of the voters’ register.
However, the party stressed the importance of having reliable statistics to guide the printing of ballot papers.
