The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, has assured religious leaders that, if elected, his administration would ensure that LGBTQ+ activities have no place in schools and communities.

He stressed that his faith did not support such activities, and he would ensure they were clamped down on.

Mahama assured the clergy during a meeting with them in Accra on Tuesday.

“My faith doesn’t permit same-sex marriages or relationships, nor does it endorse human-animal relationships or allow people to change their gender as they wish.”

“This is a fundamental belief that I hold and it is grounded in my faith. I therefore assure you that the promotion of LGBTQ+ will have no place in our schools and communities,” he stated.
