Alan Kyerematen, founder and leader of the Movement for Change, has announced his plan to establish 100,000 internet hotspots across Ghana as part of his government’s industrialisation strategy, should he be elected.

Speaking at the IEA Evening Encounter on Tuesday, October 1, Mr Kyerematen emphasised the importance of both digitisation and digitalisation, stressing that his policy aims to bridge the digital divide by providing free satellite internet connectivity to ordinary Ghanaians.

“This industrialisation cluster also proposes the mainstreaming of digitisation and digitalisation (they are not the same). In this regard, an Alan government will create 100,000 hotspots at vantage points throughout the country and this would provide free satellite internet connectivity for ordinary Ghanaians.

“If you know the cost of data, you would appreciate this policy that I am talking about,” he stated.

Mr Kyerematen expressed confidence in his ability to offer a credible alternative to the two dominant political parties in Ghana.

According to him, many Ghanaians already believe in his vision, competence, integrity, and capacity to lead the country effectively.

The former Trade Minister urged Ghanaians to set aside their doubts and vote for the candidate they believe can truly deliver change, emphasising that every vote counts and that widespread support for his candidacy could lead to victory.

“There is no doubt that many Ghanaians believe that Alan Kyerematen is the right alternative to the two dominant parties, there is no doubt about that. If you ask anybody they will tell you that we know that Alan can get the job done on account of his vision, competence, integrity, capacity for action, character and action and I am sure that people know this for a fact.

“The challenge that many of these Ghanaians have is that they’ve been wondering that if they vote for Alan, will they be wasting their vote? I want to tell you regrettably that this mindset has been the result of extensive negative propaganda,”

“…My advice to you the people of Ghana is that if you vote for Alan believing that he is the one who can get the job done and everybody who is looking for change also votes for Alan then automatically, Alan will win. This is simple deductive reasoning,” he stated.
