Salaam Mustapha, the National Youth Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has strongly criticized the National Democratic Congress (NDC) proposed 24-hour economy policy.

Mustapha dismissed the policy as “senseless” and lacking any “sensible explanation,” going so far as to call it a “silly joke.”

In an interview with Umaru Sanda Amadu on Citi FM’s Eyewitness News on Thursday, where the discussion centred around youth unemployment, Mustapha emphasized the seriousness of the unemployment crisis.

He called for practical, impactful solutions rather than what he described as superficial measures.

“Dealing with the unemployment problem is a serious issue that goes beyond joke and beyond patronising people,” Mustapha stated.

He called for a more pragmatic approach to addressing the challenges faced by young people in the country, stressing the importance of not patronising the youth.

“Let’s not patronise the young people in this country. It is a very serious matter…Let’s be more practical in how we solve the problems,” he stated.
